Purpose of the
Honor Guard
The purpose of the honor guard is to represent the Cleveland Fire
Department in various events such as funerals, parades, and award
ceremonies.
History of the CFD
Honor Guard
The Cleveland Fire Department Honor Guard was formed in 1993 . Click
Here to see a photo that contains the original members of the honor guard,
however since the photo was taken, several members, due to retirement
and other reasons, have left. The names that are mentioned in the
"not pictured" section are the replacements for those who have
left.
We currently have 16 members in the unit.
William V.
Ragsdale Memorial Award
The Honor Guard held a ceremony on December 16, 1996 to establish the
William V. Ragsdale award. This award will be presented each year to the
Honor Guard member who has shown dedication and devoted their time and
effort to all Honor Guard events. We are proud to list the members who
have received this award of merit below.
