Chief
Bob Gaylor was born on April 5, 1945 at Speck Hospital in Cleveland
Tennessee. He is the husband of Shirley Gaylor and father of Bobby Gaylor
both of whom are also from Cleveland. He has two grandchildren, Chris and
Lauren Gaylor.
Chief Gaylor joined the fire service in December of 1974 and served as
a firefighter for 5 years before being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
in April of 1980. Chief Gaylor held the rank of Lieutenant from 1980 -
1988, Captain from 1988 - 1992, and Assistant Chief from 1992 - 1995. On
August 18, 1995, he was appointed as Fire Chief, the position he currently
holds.
Chief Gaylor was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors of
the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association. He is also a member of the
International Fire Chiefs Association, the Cleveland/Bradley 911 Board,
the Cleveland/Bradley Communications Center Board or (CBCC Board) and is
certified by the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting in the following
categories: Firefighter III, Fire Service Instructor I, and Fire Officer
